Darwin, Meeker County · Land and Lot Clearing
Clearing a building site
Trees off a pad being graded for a new build, worked from the lift while the machines kept moving dirt alongside.
What we were looking at
The site was already open and being graded, with the treeline still standing along the edge of the new pad. Trees on the boundary of an active site are awkward: the ground underneath is torn up and uneven, there is equipment working nearby, and the trees staying on the far side of the line need their root zones kept out of it.
How we did it
Worked from the lift so the crew was never on unstable graded ground under a tree. Sections were dropped into the open pad area, which was already stripped, and moved out with the grapple. Keeping the felling on the pad side meant nothing landed in the timber that was staying.
Equipment on site
- Boom lift
- Grapple truck
- Chipper

More of our work
Oak through the roof
A storm dropped a mature tree across the back of the house. The butt was hollow, so nothing about the failure was visible from the ground until it happened.
Tree down across the yard
A big yard tree came over toward a two-storey farmhouse and laid out across the lawn, crown up against the siding.
Hillside clearing above the lake
Selective clearing on a steep wooded slope above the water, where nothing could be driven and everything had to be lifted out over the top.
